After a tough 0-10 season last year, the Majors are 4-2 in district play so far this season with one more game on Friday … then they are off to the playoffs! This is a big change for Mount Vernon, which also has a new head coach and a new athletic director. They lost to Yorktown (7-1) on Friday, 28-14, by two touchdowns of what I heard the guys saying on the way to the buses Friday night. The next game is against Wakefield, then they are off to playoffs.
